Just a reminder that if you’re not feeling well, please do not come to Mass—either in church or in the parking lot. I know this seems obvious. However, it has come to my attention recently that not everyone may be following this practice. Bishop Zubik has given dispensation from attending Mass in person for the Sunday obligation. This means taking the time to watch the live stream completely fulfills our Sunday obligation. When we’re sick, we’re in a weakened state and not only put ourselves at risk, but especially we put others at risk of catching what we might have, including Covid-19. Please, be sensitive to others.
Also, I remind everyone please to wear a face covering and to practice social distancing in all church buildings. Again, to me this seems obvious. But I get comments like, “How long are we going to have to do this?” The answer is, “Until the vaccine comes out. So we might as well accept it and not fret about it.” Wearing a mask is an act of love for those around us besides ourselves. Regarding the social distancing, the biggest problem I’ve seen is people not wanting to move away from the aisle and then others need to climb over them, which is unsafe. When you refuse to move over, you put yourself at risk and especially (again) you put the others at risk besides yourself. Forgive me for stating what should be obvious, but please be considerate of others—especially when you’re in church.
