We welcome Deacon Tim Noca to our parish today to talk about the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s mission in Chimbote, Peru.  Did you know that the diocese has been operating a health clinic there, including a women’s maternity hospital, continuously since 1963?  It’s the best-kept secret in Pittsburgh!

Why now?  We wanted to bring visibility to this mission during the Lenten Season, in case someone would like to make a Lenten donation as part of your Lenten spiritual journey.  We are not requiring anyone to donate to this mission, and we are not taking up a special collection, per se, but Deacon Noca will be leaving some envelopes in the pews that you may use, if you like, anytime at your convenience.  In addition, in remembrance of Fr. Boyle, former Pastor at St. Francis and Fr. Lutz, former Pastor at St. Isaac Jogues, who both spent time serving in Chimbote, we are having a special fundraising wine tasting event on Saturday, April 15, with details on page 4 in this week's bulletin.
