Following the 8:00 Mass on June 5, our bus will depart from St. Benedict the Abbot for Cedar Point in Ohio. On our way to the park, we will stop for brunch at a rest stop on the Ohio Turnpike. We will then arrive at Cedar Point in the early afternoon. Teens will unload their luggage upon arrival and will be given "Sunday" Ride passes to enter the park. The Breakers Hotel is within walking distance to the park. By 4:00 pm, all teens must be back at the Breakers Hotel to receive room assignments and to take luggage to their room. Following room check-in, teens may re-enter the park until it closes at 10:00 pm. ALL kids will be in their rooms no later than 11:30 pm. Once teens are in rooms, they will stay their rooms until morning.
On Monday, June 6, students will eat breakfast, check out and store their luggage with the front desk. Teens will be given "Monday" ride passes following check out and may enter the park at 9:00 am. The bus will begin boarding to return home at 4:30 pm and will depart at 5:00 pm. DO NOT BE LATE TO THE BUS! We will stop for dinner on the way home at a rest stop/fast food restaurant and should arrive back at St. Benedict around 10:00 pm.
These plans are subject to change; this is just a general outline. More information will be provided to registered participants as we get closer to the event. If you are interested in chaperoning, please contact Jennie Trapanotto.
The students will be required to pay for their 2-day park pass and for 1/4 of the cost of the room, as they will sleep 4 kids to a room. Although the cost of gas is extremely high, Father Bob has graciously offered to pay for the bus. Total cost of trip will be $140 for parishioners and $160 for non-parishioners.
Reserve your space today by turning your permission form and $50 non-refundable deposit in to the parish office at St. Benedict by Friday, May 13. Final payment of $90 is due Tuesday, May 31. Please make check payable to St. John XXIII Parish.
We would like all students going to Cedar Point to have a t-shirt with our new Youth Ministry logo. If you would like to purchase a t-shirt, please fill out the form below and turn it in along with a check made out to St. John XXIII Parish to the parish office at St. Benedict.
Parents are needed to help chaperone. Any adult who volunteers to chaperone must have their Safe Environment Clearances.
