″Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, who went down and prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit, for it had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” (Acts 8:14-16)
Confirmation completes the sacrament of Baptism; as in the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit ignites all the gifts received at baptism and “seals” the Christian for his mission on earth. As a “Soldier of Christ,” we’re ready to fight the battle for our souls, proclaim the good news to everyone, and welcome all trials as opportunities to practice virtue. We mature in the practice of faith, prayer, and the beatitudes! As in Baptism, we receive an indelible (permanent) mark in our soul, which empowers us in our journey towards our true home, which is – heaven!
