Eucharistic Ministers assist the celebrant in the distribution of Holy Communion during Masses. An extension of this ministry is Eucharisitic Minister to the Sick. They take Communion to those who are sick, those residing in nursing homes and those confined to their homes.
Qualifications: A Eucharistic minister must be a fully initiated Catholic (having received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist), be at least 18 years of age, be recognized within the Christian community as a person of good reputation, and be someone who is able to and regularly receives the Eucharist himself/herself. All Eucharistic ministers must be current with all safe environment requirements.
