The St. John XXIII Interfaith Food Pantry is open for shopping on the first and third Saturdays of every month from 9:00 am-Noon. For more information go to: john23foodpantry.org
The St. John XXIII Interfaith Food Pantry is recruiting volunteers who want to share their time and talent to help us feed our neighbors. There are many different opportunities which include packing boxes, sorting food, client registration. Please help us to fight the food insecurities in our community. We need your support. - Food Distributions (1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month – 8:30-Noon) Greeter - Welcomes clients at door, assigns Service (turn) Number and ushers them to Intake Process and waiting area Intake/Registration - Assists new clients in filling out application, enters clients’ data and Pantry visit in system Shopping Helpers - Assist clients with selecting non-perishable and perishable items according to the food item guidelines, packing items in bags and assisting those who require additional help in selecting or lifting items or pushing cart Perishable Helpers - assist clients in selecting paper, produce and frozen items. Also, keep coolers and tables stocked with items Car Helper (Youth Only) – help clients take bags and boxes to their car
- Stocking and Inventory Management (weekly opportunities) Stocking Shelves – unpack boxes, check product expiration dates, stock shelves, rotate inventory as necessary
  Timing: Tue morning / Wed evening / Fri morning
  Note: most cans weigh less than a pound but there can be cases that weigh up to 10 pounds Delivery Putaway – sort product, verify items received against order, take product to designated area, unpack case and stock shelves
  Timing: 1st and 3rd Fridays of month – 8 am
  Note: requires lifting cartons weighing 15-20 lb. or 30-50 lb.
- Food Box Packing and Delivery Food Box Packing – use guideline to pack boxes with inventory from the food pantry shelves Timing: 3rd Monday of the month – 9 am Food Box Delivery – load boxes in car and deliver to Charleroi (3rd Tuesday of the month) Timing: 3rd Tuesday of the month – 9 am
- Hours/Days Available to Work at the Food Pantry.

- Safe Environment Requirements
  
  All volunteers are required to comply with the safe environment requirements of the Diocese. You must be current in your clearances and safe environment training.
