We will be working in Kingwood, West Virginia to improve the living conditions for elderly or poor families in need. All volunteers will learn various skills such as using power tools to repair homes, build decks and handicap ramps, repair roofs, paint, etc. Preparation for the trip will begin months before with fundraising, choosing work sites, and gathering supplies. The adult volunteers will be mentors for the youth throughout the week on the job site and during free time. In addition to working Monday-Friday, the teams will have opportunities to attend mass, share meals, and participate in evening activities and games. Our goal is for the kids to learn and have fun while helping others.
High School students, college students, adults
We are expecting the rate to be between $100-$200 per person. This fee is dependent on the fundraising that we do. The fee will include a five night stay plus 3 meals each day. There are 25 bunk beds for girls in one room and 25 bunk beds for guys in a different room. Students will need to bring their own sheets, towel, blanket, pillow, and toiletries.
